BRITAIN’S cheapest houses are being auctioned and could be all yours for just £1.

Auction organisers are expecting “huge interest” in the two-bedroom homes in Middlesbrough which all even boast a garden.

With the average UK house price being £232,530, the £1 guide price is staggering.

Although the properties are set at a bargain price, they are in desperate need of refurbishment.

SDL Auctions’ partner and head of auctions, believes that the homes would be a great investment.   He said: “These three properties offer excellent investment opportunities in the rental market and will potentially bring in attractive revenues once they have been refurbished.

It is understood that the properties were all owned by the same landlord but fell into receivership.   As it stands there is money owed on each of the properties so this is seen as a fresh start.

The six room terraced houses are listed in the catalogue for external viewings only.     This is because the auctioneers were unable to inspect the properties internally prior to the auction date.

The auction for the homes is set to take place on July 6 in Birmingham.

Organisers are urging interested bidders to get there early as huge interest is expected.
