Toys and collectables are now featuring in Duke’s Auctioneers’ calendar for 2016.
Auctioneer at Duke’s Philip Traves says: “This is an exciting step forward for Duke’s, the market for toys and novelty collectables is very strong. We have seen great demand in recent years for this area and have produced many fantastic results for our clients at Duke’s.”
Philip said: “There are plenty of toy brands we all know, including Hornby, Corgi, Stieff, Meccano, Matchbox and Dinky among others. These are all hot names at the moment, but even unnamed toys and collectables can be sought after. Please contact the saleroom for a free valuation and you may be surprised as to their value.
Recently Duke’s of Dorchester sold a rare Meccano Set No.7, c.1926/27, in play-worn condition for almost £2,200. Earlier in the year a steam scratch built locomotive and tender sold at Duke’s for £4,880.
“With live online bidding Duke’s have the facilities to sell items to bidders from all over the world, as well as attracting local collectors in the Dorset area and beyond.”
The first of the Toy and Collectable Auctions will be held on 22nd March, followed by 6th September. Duke’s is inviting entries for these auctions.
